Quantel's 40th Birthday Cake

Image
Celebrating 40th Birthday, Quantel commissioned a giant cake to be cut and served for all members of their staff complete with 40 candles. It’s actually rather tricky to create such a simple design because of its vertical position and all finish must be extremely neat. Dear Michelle  Thank you so much for another wonderful cake which was really fantastic and fitting for the occasion.  The lemon sponge was very light and fluffy and popular with everyone.  We have just finished cutting the remaining one and a half tiers so it's 'cake fest time' at Quantel again today!  The structure of the cake really made the cutting very easy.  There was just a little too much wind yesterday which, unfortunately, made the lighting of all 40 candles an impossible task so we managed with just two lit for the ceremony.  Thanks again for another masterpiece.  Kind regards  Linda

Lectern Cake to celebrate 150 St John's Church

Image
Celebrating St John’s Church 150 year’s anniversary , Michelle created a cake in a shape of stone lectern . Taking inspiration from the St John The Evangelist symbol, which is an eagle. I thought it’s worth mention these profound words mentioned during the celebration. “Michelle’s cake is too beautiful to cut, but we’ve been reminded that to serve its purpose a cake must be cut and shared.” World’s possession is not going to last and what’s more important is leaving a lasting memory to the loved ones. Before applying colour and texture Dear Michelle, A huge thank you for the wonderful cake that you made for us. Fr Kevin O’Brien

Edible Beyonce Oreo pop-trait made from 3780 pops

Image
The scrumptious five foot by eight foot portrait was made entirely of Oreo pops  - crushed Oreo biscuits mixed with Philadelphia cream cheese – each pop was handmade in different consistencies to create 2244 dark pops and 1536 lighter pops; an impressive 3780 pops in total! The full creation required eight hours of careful construction on the day and more than six weeks planning. Food artist Michelle said: “When I was asked to create a pop icon portrait using just Oreo pops, new mum and superstar BeyoncĂ© seemed the natural choice.  It took a long time to map the exact position for each pop and create a recognisable likeness, but the hardest part of the process was trying not to eat it!  Impressive 3780 pops in total!  Former Atomic Kitten pop star, Jenny Frost and her son Caspar had fun helping to create the tasty A-list likeness as part of a campaign to inspire families to have more fun in the kitchen together.
